Detroit Fire Department Hockey Team
Hello, I am in the very long process of building a website dedicated to the
old Detroit Police & Fire hockey teams. My Grandfather was Coach & Manager of
the DPD team for many many years. I have compiled many photos from the Detroit
POLICE teams of the 50's - 70's in an online photo album on Yahoo. I don't
know if you want to link to them on your site, but you're welcome to. Be
advised, There some other miscellaneous hockey pics (from my family) that
aren't related to Police or Fire. Take a look & enjoy! Once I get my site
finalized & up I will let you know. It will be tremendous. I'm in contact with
many Detroit old-timers & retirees who are still around.

Ted Lindsay during a series between the Red Wings and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Prior to the third game of the series in Toronto, the local paper reported that several fans had issued death threats toward both Lindsay and Howe for an alleged injury to the Leaf's Tod Sloan. The game went on as planned despite the threat of a shooting. After Lindsay scored the game winning goal in overtime he held his stick like a rifle and pointed it at the crowd taunting the Maple Leaf faithful.
